Can I substitute one channel for another in my basic package?
Unfortunately, we do not allow channel substitutions. We strive to make satellite programming as affordable as possible and our packages have been set up in balance with cost effectiveness and consumer demand. One way to help keep our customer’s programming costs low is to provide stations in packages, rather than a la carte.
Why are International channels not available on the 119 or 110 satellites?
We are not able to offer International channels on the 119 or 110 satellite locations due to the space constraints on the satellites in those orbital slots. All International programming (other than the DISH Latino programming) is available on the 61.5, 148 or 121 satellite locations only.
Can I get International Programming only?
Yes, you can purchase International programming services only. Along with the cost of the International Programming, there is a $5.00 monthly charge. This is an access fee, as it does cost more to rebroadcast the International channels. This fee is waived if you purchase one of our basic programming packages such as America’s Top 60 or Great Wall TV.
What programming is not available in Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii?
Most of our basic and premium programming is broadcast from the 119 o and 110 o satellite locations. Customers residing in Alaska, Puerto Rico or Hawaii are not able to receive the 110 o satellite signal or any of the channels broadcast from this satellite with the standard 20 inch dish. You may be able to receive the 110 o satellite signal with a bigger dish. Our web site offers channel and satellite information for each package. This will allow you to determine which channels you would be able to receive.

What is SAP and how can I find out if I have it?
SAP stands for Secondary Audio Programming. Simply put, it means that there is another language track available on the program. Most often this “secondary audio” is Spanish. This feature can be activated on most TVs or on your DISH Network receiver in the “Settings” menu.
To find out if a program has SAP, highlight the program in the on-screen guide, and press “info” on your remote control. The description should include “(SAP)” at the end if the program you want to watch has SAP. In the case of Pay-Per-View movies that are being shown on more than one channel, you may need look for “(SAP)” in the extended information for each channel.
What is Letterbox format?
Letterbox (sometimes denoted as “LBX” in your on-screen guide) is best known as the format with “the black bars” on the top and bottom of the screen. This is a way to watch a movie as it was presented in theatres since a movie screen is wider than your TV. In the letterbox format, the original movie screen size is kept intact, which produces a black bar on the top and bottom of the TV screen.
How can I control the Pay-Per-View programming that my family has access to?
There are a couple of ways to ensure that only authorized viewers can see Pay-Per-View content. First, you can activate the Adult Guard feature on your receiver through the Locks menu. This feature hides the adult pay-per-view channels from your on-screen guide.
Second, you can activate the Pay-Per-View locks on your receiver. This will require a password from anyone in your household wishing to order a Pay-Per-View program. Follow these easy instructions:
- Go to the Locks menu,
- Select “PPV Locks”,
- Enter a four-digit passcode,
- Then, go back into the Locks menu and select “Activate Locks”
