Question by : What is the best coaxial cable to run a digital antenna signal between 50 and 60 feet?
So I have an antenna mounted in the attic and will be running a coaxial cable down to a digital converter box, then to a TV. What is the best type of coaxial cable to buy?

Best answer:

Answer by 9121
RG-11 is theoretically the best, but it is significantly more expensive than RG-6. For 50-60 feet, RG-6 should do the job just fine; with such lengths the difference in loss in the cable is negligible between RG-6 and RG-11.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by snwbrdr960: Difference between white and black coaxial for cable TV and internet?
Is there any difference between the old black coaxial cable and the new white coaxial cable they use now. I want to run cable out to the garage and the neighbor has a spool of black wire but I also want to hook up internet and they usually install the white coaxial these days and don’t want to run the black coaxial if it isn’t going to work the best for internet applications. Are they differenet grades of wire? What should I be looking for to run internet? Or will the black coaxial be fine?

Best answer:

Answer by DIY Doc
Color.

More obvious might be cable with STATED designations in application.
