First, cover one of the directv boxes (the one you want to leave in “DIRECTV remote” mode) with a thick dark cloth so it doesn’t respond to the remote during the following procedure.

Then after verifying that directv box #1 doesn’t respond to the remote, switch the TV to view directv box #2, and do the following:

select MENU–>Parental, Favs & Setup–>System Setup–>Remote Control–>Receiver Mode

change the receiver mode selector (on the TV screen) to “AV1 or AV2″

box #2 will now respond to AV1 (or AV2) commands. If it doesn’t respond when the remote switch is in the AV1 position, do the following to re-program the remote for AV1:

With the remote switch in the AV1 position….

press both the mute and select buttons on the remote until the AV1 light blinks twice

enter the five digit code 00002

try to use the remote to select “DONE” on the TV screen

if you cannot select DONE, go back to the “press mute and select” step above and try codes 00003, 00004, 00005, etc, until you find the one that works.

Uncover box #1… it should still respond to the remote when the switch is at the far left (D) position, and box 2 should respond to the remote when the switch is in the AV1 position.

Ummm, it will work on any Directv receiver…not other models. lol
