Question by kuhndog: Why did my Directv dvr suddenly start recording only one show at a time?
I have Directv and the dvr has always recorded two show at one time as long as you were watching one. For some reason now it will only record one at a time and doesn’t record anything else. What is even more annoying is that it won’t let you change channels while it is recording only one show. I don’t know how to change the setting.

Go to the little access door on the DVR and open it and force a system reset by pressing the small red button there. It will take a few minutes to restart, but the receiver will reread its configuration and should be ok afterwards.

For some reason, the DVR looses track that it has two inputs and forcing this restart will correct the situation.

I just checked my signal right now and it says 97-100. It isnt raining or windy right now though. I just got directv and want to know if the signal will be lost a lot. I really dont want to miss my shows that i want to watch.

Usually the only thing that causes signal loss is something obstructing the dish “site” that it has of the satellite, like if a tree branch was in the way. We have had Directv for many years, but will probably cancel soon – basic channels w/o any pay channels is $ 58 per month………too much
