Before you spend your money on an indoor antenna, there are some factors that you need to consider. How far from your home are the TV Transmitting stations? What direction are they from your house? How clear is your signal in Analog using an indoor antenna? Your answers will determine if an indoor antenna will do you any good at all.

I want to be able to switch from over the air signals to my satellite without much of a hassle. I also have a Dolby Digital 5.1 receiver. Can I get 5.1 sound over the air with this antenna?

My directv hd boxes have an extra antenna port in the back, I connect an inside antenna to each box, and I get over the air (with dolby 5.1) channels in the same list as the sat channels.

do you have the hd dvr or the hd box?
